Adult Basic Education Literacy Program
Services: Tutoring for anyone 16 years and older, at any reading level. Tutor, student and coordinator determine tutoring schedule and location. Also, GED pretest and GED classes are free. There is a charge for the actual GED Test.

Crisis Pregnancy Center
Services: Assist pregnant woman. Provides counseling, free pregnancy tests, baby clothes, baby furniture, abortion alternatives, maternity clothing, Encouraging Parents Together support groups, parenting classes, post abortion groups, baby formula and diapers. Also provides mail counseling. Biblical counseling to those who seek help in making decisions about their pregnancy or related concerns.

Department of Child Services (DCS)
Services: Protects Indiana’s children from further abuse or neglect and prevents, remedies or assists in solving problems that may result in abuse, neglect, exploitation or delinquency of children. Offers toll free hotlines for people to call and report suspected cases of child abuse or neglect. Protective Services: Intervention services for children who are abused or neglected, foster home studies, day care licensing and adoptive placement services. Food Stamps: Provides food stamp coupons to lower income individuals. Medicaid: medical coverage for those who meet financial guidelines and one of the following: Pregnant, M.P L.P Child-M.NM.K Disabled-M.D Ages, M.D M.A. For persons over 65 years, Blind, M.B. Crippled Children’s Program, Medical care for a child who is diagnosed as having a medical treatment that if left untreated, can be crippling. Hospital cares for the indigent-low income individuals who are admitted to the hospital for care but are without funds to pay. Application is taken at the hospital.

Head Start Early Learning
Services: Head Start and Early Head Start programs support the mental, social and emotional development of children from birth to age 5. In addition to education services, programs provide children and their families with health, nutrition, social and other services. Head Start services are responsive to each child and family’s ethnic, cultural, and linguistic heritage. Head Start encourages the role of parents as their child’s first and most important teachers. Programs build relationships with families that support positive parent-child relationships, family well-being and connections to peers and community.

Healthy Families
Services: Healthy Families is a free program for parents of newborns. The program has home visits that provide special support to new parents including information about a variety of services available to families. Information about services in surrounding counties is available as well. Healthy families is also responsible for surveying new or expecting parents to discover any needs that they might have.
